Worldwide Wednesday: No Impact Man

If you are looking boost your sustainability practices, get inspired by the No Impact Man Film and Project. No Impact Man is a project that started with an experiment by activist Colin Beavan and his wife and daughter. For an entire year, the Beavans attempted to completely change their lifestyle and leave no impact on the planet, while living in New York City. This means eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator. It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, busses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage. The film serves as great inspiration for how you can take small steps in order made a big difference. The project also encompasses a book and a blog and aims to promote behavioral change, enable the public to experience their own No Impact Experiment and engage people who are not already tree-hugging, bicycle-riding, canvas-bag-toting, Eco-warriors.
